The Second International Workshop for the Erasmus+ project, "AI-Competence in Education for Migrant Organizations" (Project Code: 2024-2-DE02-KA210-ADU-000260826), successfully concluded in Izmir, Turkey. This five-day intensive training took place from October 26, 2025, to November 1, 2025.
Following the foundational work of the first Izmir workshop, the focus of this second training shifted specifically to "Digitalization in immigrant Organization with focus on AI", aiming to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to effectively integrate digital technologies into their educational work.
A Focus on Digital Integration and Practical Application
The workshop was designed to address how digital tools and platforms can be used to enhance learning and optimize organizational processes within migrant support groups. Representatives from the four project partners—Afghanic e.V., advisa WIRTSCHAFTSAKADEMIE E.V., Afghan Tips, and Bizlinks Consulting and Marketing—were present to contribute and collaborate.
The agenda focused heavily on practical applications and strategic thinking regarding digitalization and artificial intelligence in adult migrant education. Key contributions from the partners included:
Practical AI Usage: Afghan Tips focused on the "Practical usage of AI competencies for Migrant organization".
AI and Native Language Learning: Afghanic led a session on "How Artificial Intelligence (AI) Can Help to Learn the Native Languages of Migrants in the EU".
Organizational Strategy and Security: advisa contributed expertise on "Developing Secure SQL and AI-Based Web Platforms for European Migrant NGOs", alongside training provided by a certified expert on "Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Organizations: Informed Decisions through Certified AI Management".
AI and Global Change: Discussions were held on "Artificial intelligence and today's world, what we do and in what areas artificial intelligence is taking jobs away from humans". Plans were also discussed to create a video report showcasing how refugees in Europe utilize AI to solve daily bureaucratic problems.
Project Continuity: An important session was dedicated to exploring "What is known about the future of ERASMUS+ and what can non-profit organizations expect".
Throughout the week, participants engaged in reviewing the general principles of digitalization and applying concepts of digital learning platforms, mobile applications, and online tools to organize learning and improve communication.
Key Outcomes and Future Momentum
The workshop aimed to deliver several crucial outcomes for the participating organizations:
Strengthened Digital Know-How: Participants gained training on effectively integrating digital technologies into educational programs.
Improved Educational Offers: The focus was placed on optimizing educational offers to be more personalized, flexible, and accessible to a wider audience using modern digital tools.
Responsible Use of Technology: The meeting addressed the crucial ethical and legal aspects of digitalization, including data protection and security, ensuring the safe and GDPR-compliant use of digital technologies in educational activities.
Network Strengthening: Group work and the exchange of experiences fostered closer cooperation, enabling the development of joint solutions for the challenges of digital transformation in migrant education.
The venue and dates for the training, including check-in on October 26 and check-out on November 1, were finalized, with the confirmation of free rooms at the Kocabicakhotel, where the workshop sessions utilized a separate room with facilities. Travel arrangements were actively secured by partners in advance, with adherence to the policy of typically limiting attendance to two persons per partner organization due to project budget constraints.
This successful workshop lays the groundwork for the immediate next step in the project: the upcoming dissemination of results via three multiplier events planned for November/December 2025 in Germany (Bonn), Turkey (Istanbul), and Belgium (Ghent).
