Multiplier Event in Ghent: A Look at the Successful Multiplier Event

Date: December 2025

Location: Ghent, Belgium

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our Erasmus+ Multiplier Event in Ghent, hosted by our Belgian partner, Afghan Tips vzw. Held on December 6, 2025, this event marked a significant milestone in our project, "AI-Competence in Education for Migrant Organizations" (Project Ref: 2024-2-DE02-KA210-ADU-000260826).

Connecting Communities with Digital Innovation

The primary goal of this event was to disseminate the results of our year-long collaboration and ensure that the tools and strategies developed are widely available for long-term use. Bringing together representatives from migrant organizations, educators, and community leaders, the event focused on how Artificial Intelligence can serve as a bridge for integration rather than a barrier.

As the local host, Afghan Tips—a non-profit dedicated to providing essential knowledge about life in Belgium and Europe—facilitated discussions on the practical applications of AI for the Afghan and broader migrant diaspora.

Key Highlights of the Event

The session built upon the foundational work established during our previous workshops in Izmir, Turkey. Participants in Ghent explored several critical themes:

  • AI for Language Learning: We showcased how AI tools are being integrated into language education, specifically highlighting the "Pashto as a Second Language" series. This initiative uses AI to create interactive learning experiences, including pronunciation feedback and intelligent vocabulary support, helping migrants maintain their mother tongue while integrating into new societies,.

  • Navigating the Job Market: Building on research regarding adult migrants' employment challenges, the event highlighted how AI can assist in skills recognition, resume building, and navigating complex bureaucratic systems in host countries.

  • Strengthening Networks: The event lived up to the project's objective of building a strong network for the exchange of best practices. By connecting grassroots organizations in Belgium with partners from Germany (Afghanic e.V., advisa Wirtschaftsakademie) and Turkey (BizLinks), we are fostering a transnational support system for digital inclusion,.

Looking Forward

The enthusiasm shown by participants in Ghent confirms the vital need for digital competence in the migrant sector. As noted in our project objectives, increasing AI competence allows these organizations to optimize their educational offerings and advocate more effectively for their communities.

We extend our gratitude to the European Union for co-funding this initiative through the Erasmus+ program, and to all the participants who made the Ghent multiplier event a resounding success.
